what sort of economy is available from driving a 10PSI turbo tb42 on straight gas? not after 20L/100KM just approx how much driving people are getting from there dedicated gas turbo vehicles, as the car still needs to be driven to and from places.

sorry if its been done, i searched and only came up with non turbo economy figures.

Depends on how hard you drive, how good the tune is, how heavy the car is etc. I used to get 20L/100 klms in regular driving and 40L/100 kls if flogging around in low 4, Competitions and stuff.
Mine was a shorty and did off road klm's on 36 12.5 Centepedes and highway on 35 Pro Comp muds with 4.1 diff gears.

joel, did you drive it petrol turbo aswell? what are the power differences between LPG and petrol in a similar setup car. i dont care about economy, just want to make sure i get to the places i want to go.

as for my driving style... id say 40l per 100 will be me. specially offroad. thankx joel. anyone else.

i have a straight gas turbo tb42 in a gq wagon with 4.1's and 35's, 200rwkw on 15psi. I just got back from a trip to Mt Buler where i got 440km's from 100l of gas and the roads are pretty hilly, i was pretty happy with that...
when u give it to it around town or up bush they do tend to drink it prob get 250km's to the 100l
oh yeah, Jole tuned my car :D

thanx guys, i guess i could just run 2 100 usable litre tanks if need be. i think i might go down that path instead of petrol turbo.

My vehicle was never on petrol, now I have the Gen 3 turbo that is petrol only, It gets about 16L per 100k driving around and 30-40L per 100k off road.

One of our guys has a GQ wagon Gasresearch, Ice ignition, intercooled etc, about 200 rwkW and got 20 L per 100 on a recent trip to Buller.

In an EFI car if the throttle body and manifold isn't restrictive and if the petrol is correctly tuned and is using 98 octane fuel will make 2-3% more than LPG with a Gasresearch Carby, predominantly as the Gasresearch is a carby with a diffuser/venturi that offers a small restriction to air flow. It is necessary to have this to create a negative pressure such that fuel is drawn towards the pressure drop.

Cheers
