Hi All,
Ive been checking out this site for ages and getting heaps of pointers so i thought i might introduce myself and post some pics of the recent mods i have done to the mighty feroza. i wouldnt own anything else..!!!
Its a 95 model. I bought it about 6 months ago for $5000. Not a bad deal i thought...
Not a scratch underneath and immaculate inside. Original headlight and bonnet protectors and little Feroza mats in the back. Never been offroad. Anyway..
Here are a couple of pics the day i picked him up.
Now Im planning a trip halfway around Oz and i couldnt be without my little machine.
Ive done plugs, belts, engine - front diff - rear diff - gearbox and transfer case oil, radiator hoses, coolant, oil filter, air filter. Fitted extended breather hoses for the diffs, gearbox and t/c. Plus a few other bits and pieces..
Now i decided to fit a 2nd battery for my Waeco 40Ltr fridge..
I have no aircon so i have a bit of space in the front. A bit of a bastard to fit and bend brackets and shit but so worth it. mmm Cold beers
Ok after that i decided to replace the rear panel with something a bit more sturdy better looking..
Plus i wanted to fit some 12v sockets in the back..
So i replaced the panels with 3mm MDF and covered them with some material and fitted 3 12v sockets. 2 on the left and one on the right. And i remounted the rear light. Plus i installed a fusebox in the back to power my 12v sockets and the rear fluro i fitted to the back.
Wiring behind the panel.
Back of the car with the roof of. Work in progress.
This is the rear wall. I put in 2 sockets and remounted the rea light. thats the fusebox down the bottom there. Its got 6 outputs for differnt fuses, etc
Now after that i decided to make up some drawers to fit in the back. I dont think they make any to suit a Feroza and if they did im sure they'd be very expensive.
Two drawers fit between the wheel arches. Plus a small storage area either side at the back. I also have two small portholes that lift up and provide a storage area behind the drawers. I didnt want them to go all the way. Im going to store all my spares, compressor and recovery kit in there. Just stuff i dont access very often. You can barely see the cutouts. im going to put some small ringpulls on top to lift them up but havent got around to it yet. Its all carpeted and painted. Pretty good but its not quite finished yet. Im going to make a fridge area on top with a slide, etc. Same material and carpet.
Half way through. Carpeting and painting the exposed bits and cutting out the small prtholes for spare parts and my compressor, etc
Me posing in the morning just about to start work..
Just about to go in. Its all one unit so i can remove it whenever i want.
This is the finished product. I just want to putty and paint the screw holes..
This took me about a solid week to do all this.. A bit slow i guess but it just made it as i went. (im a carpenter so it wasnt that hard). Im pretty happy with it..
Ill post some more pics when i finish the fridge slide..
What do you guys reckon??
Phew.. long 1st post..
