hilux torque rod

just put 60 series diffs in my hilux do i still need the tourque rod?
84 model running commo v6

if your still running the hilux steering then i would say yes you have too...

But if your running different steering then toss it over your shoulder

The torque rod is there because the springs on hiluxs are flat or convex so when torque is applied the springs want to wrap.
So yes the torque rod is important if you are using Hilux springs.

As Bogan said, if you're still using the push-pull steering setup from the hilux, you still need it.

If you've gone to hi-steer or crossover, it's not necessary.

still running std steer atm with dropped draglink but considering x over steer using the 60 box or an ifs hilux one. using lifted heavy duty springs if it makes any difference

Definetly go the x-over and piss off the torque rod. If you're going to the effort to put in a 60 axle you may as well go the crossover.

The torque rod isn't required if you're no longer running the std push-pull style of steering - it is only there to stop the wheels steering as the axle rolls slightly under braking.
