Wanting to know what people have used for the exhaust side of things to do this conversion?

What i was going to do was to get Vitara (sidekick) extractors and chop the exhaust flange off and use the gti exhaust flange?

Will this work?

ALSO

A mate has just done this wiring and is having trouble with the injectors not pulsing for some reason. Does anyone know or come across this problem during this build?

Any help would be muchly appreciated!

Did you use a chopped harness from the GTI, or custom make one. Not knowing for sure where a GTI draws its injector pulse signal from, at a guess check that all your crank/cam angle sensors are okay, and wired correctly. Check your ecu and wiring. Check all earths.

Most places should be able to do a custom setup as mr green said for that price which probably clears better and can be tucked up away higher from damage, shop around.

I bought a genie sierra header and had the flange cut off and the GTi one welded on, pacemaker stock the GTi flange. The ports on the GTi are square but they do line up pretty good.

You 100% you used sierra ones. i was told by others the ports dont line up! Also they recon that the vitara headers are the ones to buy then just simply weld the gti flange on ?

I dont want to go buy a set oof headers onyl to realise the ports dont line up :(

100% positively certain. Genie sierra headers, the ports aren't spot on but close anyone competant in welding on the new flange should be able to get them to line up. It wasn't a problem for my exhaust guy.
