hey guys looking at upgrading the alarm in the truck shortly and am really looking to find out which ones people have found that cope best with all the mud and mostly dust that fourby's get into! It ain't such a problem on road cars cause they dont deal with it as much.
Thinking my price range is gonna be $450-$600 but i'm really looking for more than just central locking and your basic imobiliser, if someones gonna try to steal my car i wanna make it fucking hard!

yeah been checking out the mongoose ones out, i guess as long as you mount the control box up nice and high there shouldn't be a problem with that. Just the door lock actuators that become the real hassle!

well i went and picked up a mongoose M80S today, got it mostly for the turbo timer setting it has which is cool. Plan on wiring it in myself which at first seemed a little daunting (all black wiring) but now reading the instructions a bit better it all seems to be falling into place. Anyone else strike any hurdles with their install?

i got myself a Shadow from the local jaycar store. Its all compliate with the insurance companies as well so they give you a discount coz of the engine imobilisation.
It has 3 imobilisation points in the engine. (switched side of the igintion, coil and starter motor, fuel pump, ecu, what ever you choose)
Operates door locks
seperate boot switch
all black wiring.
Panic alarm(not sure what thats for yet, lol)
works with turbo timers
Automatic arming
I also bought the additional pack and got the siren with back up power supply (so even if they cut the power its still goes off), shock sensor and the bonnet switch for an extra $50
Wired it up over the weekend and it cost about $200 total.
No doubt someone could still steal the car, but they would have a hell of a time getting it to run once they worked out my dodgy wiring.
I cant complian. Its worked so far, i've still got my car.
