Hey there,
just finishing off putting my diff back together and i have the snake racing kit on the back of it to allow sierra front discs on the rear of my sierra...i pulled it apart but cant for the life of me remember exactly how it all went back together lol

i put the axles in first yes?then the bracket sits between the housing and the axle ends...i think...

SHould the rear wheel bearings be tight as hell to go into the housing? cos they are brand new and i need a bigger hammer i think haha :)

thats it for now, hopefully i can have this thing running again by end of day :)

check to see if you have the right bearings.

some zooks have a tapered bearing.

Have a look at your housing, a close look, and check out where the bearing seats itself. It may be tapering/flared outwards slightly. If you are trying to ram a square bearing in their you are fighting a losing battle.

ring up snake racing direct. easier than waiting for someone here to give you the right info.

I have never seen tapered bearings in the rear :?

Slide the axle in (carfull not to damage seal) and using a block of wood and a hammer tap the axle in, make sure the housing where the bearing sits is clean and free of rust. then the caliper bracket goes on (facing forward or back wont matter) the bracket holds the bearing in place. Its a good idea to use some anti seize between the bracket and housing.
Not the best shot but below you can see the bracket

Note: you will need the caliper unbolted to bleed the brakes as the bleed nipple needs to be at the top.

No its quite soft and flexes quite hard, the car is very heavy though.

I had and 88.5, plastic flares, NT flanges etc and no tapered bearings :? :?
