Hey peoples.
I'm wanting to re-drill my rear springs, to move the diff back a tad. Just wondering if it is as simple as clamping them down, and re-drilling the new hole in the desired spot?? Tar
F&R ARB air lockers, lux diffs, 4 link coil rear, drop shackles, inboarded ranchos, stage 4 reduction gears, 35" silverstones, 9500 winch, RUF, 1.6 EFI, swimming goggles
Go ahead, redrill the eye bolt hole in the spring, just be sure to buy some replacement springs before you do it and don't drive it on a public road cause it won't be pretty when the springs snap.

I've read plenty of times that this has been done b4.. but if it weakens the springs as much as your saying i wont do it.. thats why i was asking in the tech section first

You're moving the diff back, so you'll be using the front hole on the perches.
So, put the plate on the perch with the middle holes lined up. Mark it where the front hole is, then drill it.
i'm already running the 3 hole spring perch!! So my diff has already been moved back an inch.. but cause of the lux springs, i would like to move my diff back a bit more, and i'm wondering if people have re-drilled there springs. I've heard of it happening b4.. but maybe people have re-drilled their perchs, but described it as "re-drilling their springs"

People have done it. Some break the main leaf, some have no issues. Can be hard to drill and slow speed with a masonry bit seems to be the go.
If you are already running a lux front and want more wheelbase, I'd mod the mounts and get a lux rear in there and run it backwards. Or if that's not an option get a custom main leaf made up to suit and build a pack with the rest of your leaves.
Drilling the springs is hard work and prone to failure.
If you have already re-drilled the perch to as far back as possible then you need to make up some eye bolt spacer plates.
For the price of getting a custom main leaf made up I wouldn't bother with drilling springs for diff movement, it's a PITA to do anyway. Also I haven't attempted it yet but from a quick looks it appears you could get more than an inch movement back by re-drilling the stock perches. So maybe ditching the 3 hole aftermarket perches (if that's what you have) and drilling the stock ones would give you your desired 1 inch.

Only 4 posts up is an answer that makes yours redundant.

I meant they could go back another inch or so again ie: 2 inches. Looking at his members thread it looks like the three hole perches have room for more aswell.
