Daihatsu Rocky Tranny Vestitie Problem

Yellow,

My rocky F77 Has a tranny gremlin. Male female gender flip flop.

The transfer case is not standard f77. You do not engage 4wd thru the shifter. Instead it requires vacuum pressure to engage. Now whatever changed the gearbox had no fore sight, nobber, and i need a cheap alternative so i can utilise this commodity.

Options are:
1) Change to original gearbox? $$$$$
2) Instal a manual shift on the transfer case to operate the rod that allows 2wd and 4wd.
3) Find Vacuum assist switches from the wreckers? $$$$ But which model?
4) Scan a pneumatic company with air/electric micro switches?

Anyone whom has encounter and solved this problem in a manner cheap and viable , I would love to hear.

NB Is the 2.8 diesel radiator cable of a trip Perth - Darwin or would extra cooling be required????

Thanks

Gravelrash :) :) :) :)

I'm guessing the gearbox would be off a Jap import engine (?) so possibly try the wreckers for the bits you need.

Going by the web address on the pic, it will be in Iceland. Dick Cepek tyres seem to be a favorite over there.
