Hey All, After a weekend of fun competing at CQ offroad i'm left with a rather nice Log shaped dent in my chassis (GQ Patrol) any idea's on how to repair it or should i just leave it and finally get around to putting some decent underbody protection on or both????

Underbody protection never hurts.
If the dint aint too bad and it hasnt cracked the chassie rail it will probably be ok, maybe plating the sides will help strenghen it back up a bit.
Not a pro at this so Im just putting the idea out there.

I will be making a puller to do this soon, will consist of 2 16T jacks some chain and some SHS.

Nastytroll can't quite work out what you've got planned there, any chance of a pic in action or a dodgy paint drawing????
Thanks

I'm guessing you plan on welding something to the dint then bolting chain to it and pulling the dint out??
If it was me i would definately leave the dint there, pulling out the dint will not restore it to its previous strength, just make it look better.
Plating it will add enough strength if it is not kinked.
Just my thoughts.

it is a H shape that lays flat on the ground with a chain from the centre welded to the dint, a jack at either end

That sounds lik it would work if you really want the dint out, just be careful with it as the chassis isnt very thick.
You may want to plate it after pulling out the dint.
have fun.

X 2...
If the dent is causing any other problems then I'd leave it alone.

I put a good dent in my chassis. I simply pushed the side in with a hammer. Used a dog a wedge to bring the other section out. then welded a piece of 75x150mm angel over the bottom and in side of te chassis. Probally way to heavy. Strong as, bashed the chassis hard many times since all i did was scratch the paint.

That's probably what i'll end up doing AFeral, except maybe not as heavy Angle!
Cheers Guys
