Vit bottom end.. how strong?

well i carnt sceem to find any info on what i want so....

Im curently putting the wheels in motion for my new motor for my zook..

I am thinking about useing a Vit crank/rods/16 valve pistons/gti twin cam head etc..

my question is will the vit crank and rods take it?? i know the pistons are built strong but will i be throwing legs out of bed at 8000rpm? or will the crank die??

i have sceen turbo'd vit motors but still dont know how much they love to rev...

i am concidering this engen to be able to rev hard and still produce a bit of low down.. hence the 1600 bottom end..

will also be useing a sierra block.

A 1600 crank will not fit into a 1300 block, it is not wide enought inside.
The 1600 rods are not reknowned for their strenght either .. Though I used to give mine a good hiding and it never gave me trouble.
I am pretty certain you will find that the 1600 rods are also to long to be used with the 1300 block (otherwise you could use the forged and very durable 1300 GTi rods in a 1600)
The 1600 rod weak area is just above the crank bearing, it is quite narrow so as not to interfere with the block (oops think its the piston skirt actually) . I am uncertain if anyone makes a stronger aftermarket rod.

Te Crank itself is known to be quite durable (especially the 16v 1.6 version it is fully counterweighted forged item)

and the bearing journals are bigger than a 1.3.

well... looks like that plan just went to crap...

never mind unless i can get a 16vavle vit bottom end.. although that still wont alow me to rev it like i want to..

how strong is the bottom end, ie block and that?

The early (1.6) Vitara blocks are known for cracks. If you buy one secondhand, look for telltale water or oil marks and hairline cracks...also welding from repairs.

I had two that had leaks near the oil pressure switch.

i like to make things rev hard..

v840 was thinking about 4age but if i stick with a g13 no need for engenering etc.

i have been doing alot of work to my mates GTI (actualy turboing it but another story) and i love his.. the way it revs is awsome to say the least..

i think i might go a whole gti motor.

but why? I'm actually serious, not picking on you etc. Just curious as to why you want to rev things hard? What benefit does it give you? I hated revving the ring bits out of my Sierra, sometimes it was done but once I had the gearing sorted didn't need to do it.

Modern 1.3 16v motor has a better head. The coil on plug design is alot easier to package in a sierra engine bay.
perhaps GTI bottom end with newer g13bb head ?

dunno grimbo maby the sound of a 1300 at 7k... just awsome...

i am going to be useing a sierra distributor..
trying to stay away from efi... useing a quad carbi set up of a bike.

its just a experement.. and if it fails i can sell the motor to a ricer and go a jimny motor i guess

at one stage but it also had a few Sierra ones as well

do you have a right angle adapter ? they are pretty rare and due to this rather expensive.
Otherwise you can make an indentation in the firewall to use the GTi one if your not looking to engineer it seeing as your going with carbs.

i am going with carbs due to the fact that i like them... and it is posible to make more power with carbs than STANDARD efi..

i may have one comeing or i can fabricate something quite simply..

Not that this has much to do with what your talking about, but the 8-valve had hypereutectic pistons (what the Honda D16 use in turbo projects) as far as i know. Does the 16-valve?
