My Gu Ute 99model 4.2TD has lost heaps of power. It only revs out to about 2grand now and instead of the usual 9pound boost it only reaches about 5 pound. Does anyone have any ideas of the problem?
Thanks

someone jammed a rag down your snorkle?
could also be that your fuel filters are so clogged that nothing is getting through?

did it start losing power at about this time?
What condition was the filter in? did you drain it to see if it had chit in it?
You bought fuel at same place? Maybe a bad batch of fuel??
Air filter? but sounds like filter or pump issue.

No it only started losing power about a week ago and i did drain the filter and there was no water in it or any other shit.
It could be bad fuel but how would i tell if that was the case?
I hope its not a pump issue, heard they are costly

Drain the tank into a drum.. change filter, go get fuel elsewhere, fill tank and prime system.
pumps arent that bad round 2grand.

Is it new enough to have the EGR valve?
If so, the tube is prone to cracking and releasing exhaust gas, preventing boost. Just a thought ...
