GU front calipers needed. Alternatives to new from Nissan?

Quick question for a friend. He needs new front calipers for a GU, 2001 model. It is for an off-road vehicle so he doesn't want to pay main dealer prices. So do calipers from earlier models (GQ) or other models (Terrano, pickups etc) fit? Small mods to make fit not a problem.

Cheers

Mark

Try your local 4X4 wreckers. They will have or can get what you need.

You would not want an odd caliper on there, as it would have different pressure etc to the others causing issues when you stand on the brakes.

I gather GU's are not big in Wales? As said wrecker would be your best option if not new.
for a laugh, what is a new one worth?

GU axles are simply NOT found in breakers yards over here (been searching for months). My mate has the axles (from heaven knows where!) to fit under a Toyota challenge truck but unfortunately the calipers were already removed. So a pair is needed in any case. No idea of Nissan prices but talking in region of £400 a pair at least......

Giantracing.. i have passed your message on to my mate. It seems that the seller of the axles wanted £400 extra to leave the USED calipers on. So Nissan must charge alot more for new!

Now if GQ ones would actually fit there would be no problem......
