interested in finding out what ype of rims these are
as i think they look the best on a feroza
anyone else know what rims suit the feroza
as im interested in buying some for mine soon.
i like the fact that those are offest inside
so the spokes are protected somewhat from scratching... as i would like to paint mine a goldish orange/yellow

If you are after 2nd hand rims, anything that fits a sierra, vitara, Lada,F100, Rocky will fit

Give r0ck_m0nkey a PM as it was his Feroza that you have pictured.
They're not standard, so he may be able to tell you the Manufacturer and style of rim
Cheers

My personal preference is still the good ol' white ROH Sunraysia...$50 each for a good quality wheel which is a "classic" design, so won't look as dated as a lot of the stuff on the market after a few years. They're also very robust, i.e. they resist buckling, dings, etc. and ya can fix 'em even if they do get bent...but cheap to replace and EASY to respray with enamel paint and a hair drier for an always new look.
$0.02

Have to agree with AJ on the "sunraysia" style rims. ROH make them (Trak I and II ?), CSA (Ranger RV) and also Speedy. Mine were around $60 ea (CSA Ranger RV), but then you need to add on the chrome centres- unless you like looking through the hole in the centre at dirty rusty wheel hubs. They come in 15x7 to suit the Feroza and fill out the guards nicely.
You then also don't have to worry about scratching big $$$ alloys off road.

just a short question, can you get black sunraysias or just do I just paint them black

I agree with AJ. Can't beat the ol' Sunraysia wheel.
Here's a pic of mine (sorry not real good shot of them). They have been sprayed grey/silver to sort of go with the silver of the car.
Am thinking of getting them done in black when I get new tyres though.
Anyone have any thoughts on black rims???
I believe Speedy have them in Black.

Sunraysias are the go, classics
I put a set on my roza, wouldn't put anything else on there...... Alloys suck
Black ones climb rocks better

I could only find white ones to fit the Feroza when I was looking- would have preferred silver or grey.

Mine have been painted that colour.... But really like the black ones....

Well, i got CSA magnums on the rocky, but the previous owner put em on, so im not complaining. Though if i chose, the good old sunraysia would win.
layto....

Disagree with the Sunraysia's - Steel is too heavy on a standard Feroza drivetrain if you mount big tyres - 31x10.5's + 15x7 Steel Rims are REALLY heavy on the ole Feroza front CV Joints.
Unless you are dishing out serious abuse on your poor little truck Alloys are plenty strong enough - mine hardly had a mark on them, & I really did get stuck into them on Porters Rd a couple of times
I did have the CSA Magnums on mine - nice rim. Am seriously thinking about them again on the Surf....
Troy's were ROH's I think ????
As for Black Sunraysias if you want to go that way - check out the Procomp Rockcrawler Rims - they come in Black & look better than the Sunraysias IMO - look in 4wd Monthly Mag for the ad on dealers.
Here's a pic of my rims when they were nice'n'new
Also covers a Snorkel Pic as well I guess !!

Actually I'd disagree with the weight difference Mike. When I was looking at buying wheels there was a 15x7 sunraysia and an alloy wheel the same size side by side- I picked both up and couldn't really feel any difference in weight between the two! I always though the same as you that there was a huge weight difference- but apparently not.
Don't forget the alloy has to be a lot thicker to handle the stress compared to steel. If you had magnesium wheels now that would be a different matter!

Sorry Murcod, gotta disagree right back at ya
I had both sets of rims - the CSA Magnums & a set of 15x8 sunraysias I scored for nothing & was going to mount something crazy like a set of Boggers on them. I weighed both when I was practicing changing tyres for my first Outback Trip & the difference was around 30% in favour of the Alloy.
Now of course not all Alloys are the same weight ( as are Steelies ) & the 15x7's would probably be lighter than the 15x8's I had - but as a "generalization" the Alloys are definitely lighter.
Please note - if you are only replacing a tyre of around the same size as standard - then it is not really gonna matter to much - but then if you are doing that then why bother - the Sunraysias are not that much better looking than the originals ( which you can paint of powder coat as well to any colour you want ) When you are going as large as a 31" tyre then the tyre is already substantially heavier than the stock one, so any weight saving in the Rim is a benefit as far as I see it.
The same goes for Rim size - I was always concerned that the 15x8's & Boggers were going to destroy my CV's & Front Diff - so never actually went that way. There is no reason to go 15x8's on a Feroza at all - 15x7's are the perfect size for up to 31x10.5's - the smaller rim size pulls the sidewall in a bit tighter so you can run lower pressures offroad with less chance of popping a sidewall.
All of this is just my own personal experience - YMMV - as will your choices - Rims are a pretty personal thing.

Do you remember at all what the weight difference was Mike? From the above you were also comparing a 15x8 steel to a 15x7 alloy?
The problem with most alloys is they're made to look good- not designed for light weight. There can also be a huge difference in tyre weights between different brands that are the same size.

Steel rims are definetly better for offroad use. IMO
But there is nothing wrong with adding a bit of bling bling into the equation.
I mean most of use like a nice looking rig to drive around in.
Weight difference, well the weak front feroza diff can be destroyed with stock gear on. So might as well blow it up in style.

the roza front diff is weak? hmmm... i thought it could take up a bit of abuse.... am i missing something here?

No ......not missing anything ........ it's just WEAK !!
Once you have had both your front wheels in the air...powering down to get over a rise...once the wheels hit the ground again and suddenly get traction.....
CRACK.....sounds like a shotgun blast.....and ya won't be able to find the side gears in the mud !!..It bleeds
Murky grey blood
This was the reason that mine is now SAS'd.....cost of OE front diff centre and housing = A$2000 (from a wreckers)......vs.......cost of SAS with bigger drivetrain A$10K.
It was worth it !!

hmmm... thats interesting considering my roza went airborn for atleast 20 ft several times...... diff still worked great after that... you must of come down at a very offset angle very hard.....

It's really very simple...........
1. Do a wheel stand
2. Keep your right foot planted on the accelerator
3. Keep the revs >6000rpm
4. Drop the front wheels onto a high traction surface
See what happens !!
I also have jumped my Feroza.....but it was on a sand dune...no problems !!

lol.. i follow ya now.. but wouldnt any diff jus about give from that kind of strain? considering how much torque roza can put out... i'm surprised you didnt snap ur engine off the mounts. no wonder you blew a diff.. and you call it weak. lets see another rig do that. same stats. prolly wouldnt take as much

True......too true !
The real reason why people say they're weaker is that ARB didn't want to develop an Air Locker for them....their engineers said that it was too weak. Suzuki Vitara's (Sidekicks) have the same problems !!
Not sure, but it may also have something to do with the aluminium cover ?? making it weaker ??

i think arb said that jus because they felt like there wasnt enough demand in the market for the locker on the daihatsu..... its all about money... you gotta figure.... a jeep... how many people got one? how many people got a daihatsu? not many sadly... and daihatsu would be truly unstoppable if we could jus come up with a locker of some sort.... its sad that the majority of people dont realize the rocky and feroza's true protential.... they laugh and think its a zook wannabe.... ha.. i PISS on zooks!
i'll take my roza over a zook any time
