Hi All

Was looking in FAQ's for pins to short to retrieve fault codes but the pictures/diagrams are not there. Can anyone help me out.... Problem is engine light is coming on intermittently and when it's on I loose power and stall at lights unless keep revs up (92 EL-111 auto) Just got it back from mechanics and seems he has just upped the idle to stop stalling. Was idling around 800 in neutral but now idles around 1200 and surges when engine light is on Problem started about a week after I put a new distributor cap and rotor on, dont know if that had anything to do with it Anybody else had this trouble?

manuals can be had from www.warfs.org. If you have faults then your going to need the manuals to fix whatevers wrong.

IIRC its the front, middle pin to ground but.....

I'll have another look on warfs but it seems they are the US/European spec hatsu's which have a check terminal around the battery somewhere, the aussie spec has the diagnostics terminal on passenger firewall. Dont want to short anything untill I'm sure. I'll get on with making sure the o2 sensor is grounded properly. Cheers MM, the FAQ article was written by murcod, so if your still out there would appreciate any help.

I no longer have a Feroza- the pictures used to reside on the forum database, but it crashed a year or two back and they were never restored. I just checked and I don't have the photos on my hard drive. There's a slim chance I may have burned them to a DVD, but finding it could be another matter...

The connector is the same as the US spec models. Just make sure you get the orientation of the plug right- look at the latch part that holds the blanking cap and make sure you're looking at it the right way.

Check your ignition timing and vacuum advance lines too.

Thats the plug im talking about, manuals show a six pin arrangement so still not sure. Is yours automatic or manaul ferozamaniac? MightyMouse, does this look familiar to you (still think front row centre to ground) Problem hasn't happened since checking vacuum hoses (didn't replace any) but still want to know for future reference.

No that's a different plug ( of course....... ) might be worth checking the wiring colors at the ECU end - probably the same on all models so you could use the manual, find the color at the ecu and then check the plug to see if it makes sense.

Might also find a late model Applause or Charade has this plug as they ran the same engine and ecu.... Try one of the Daihatsu forums DiaClub, Daihard etc.....

Sorry can't be of more help.
