hey peoples.. a mate is running a lokka lockrite in the rear of his WT sierra. We noticed the other day it isnt locking all of the time. We realise that it is an "auto locker" but it was doing it heaps. Didnt matter weather it was in a straight line, doing circle work etc.. it continued to do it!! I've found a rebuild kit, which contains "Replacement Spring & Pins"
Any ideas if this rebuild kit may fix the prob? im not sure exactly how these things work.. so not sure if the kit may fix the prob. Tar heaps!!

It really should be called an auto unlocker because they unlock when one wheel try's to rotate faster than the other one.
If it is unlocking when one wheel is in the air you have a problem but if both wheels have traction (and it doesnt take much) it should unlock.
It shouldnt lock all the time, If you drove around a dry roundabout the friction on the tyres trying to make the outside wheel turn faster would make the locker unlock, but if you spilt oil all over the roundabout both wheels would stay locked because their isnt enough traction to unlock it.
Hope that kinda makes sense.

getting the shim thickness correct is the most crucial part, you can't just slap the original ones in and hope for the best. taking the measurements on a fully enclosed sierra carrier can be difficult though. and the shims will wear over time, so at some stage it will have to be taken out again and re shimmed. go by the manual specs and it should be ok.

oh ok... i see. This is doing it all the time.. it isnt "locking" when its suppose to. I'll suggest for him to get this kit, take it to a driveline specialist, and get it installed. Would that be the goods??

as long as they can make shims to the right thickness than yes it should be ok.
