had this several time before on various rigs...

drain & flush tank...

fit new pre filter... its just above the twin electric fuel pumps....

replace the mesh filter in the bottoms of the 2 fuel pumps

replace the final fuel filter in the enginebay

:D

thanx i,v got plans to pull the tank out on the weekend and clean it only problem is its a 160L tank and it takes a few extra people.

when we droped it to change the shackel bushes we found the breather hose off so there must be water and shit gitting in there from that.

sorry drive it im not hijacking your thread but where abouts r all the fuel filters on a diesel MQ and is there any other way to flush a fuel tank out without taking it out. Does anyone recommend any diesel treatments that clean and lube up the fuel system.

On the diesel MQ there are only 2.
1 is screwed into the injector lines ( its a round screw up one not an inline one ) near the back of the SD33 on the same side as the injector pump and is near the firewall.

The other is just above the fuel tank at the very back of ur rig right in the middle. It is really an impossible task to change it without body lift of some sort. ( unless of course u want to drop your fuel tank ).

I had an MQ with the 160L tank, they are very large, and heavy, but managed to remove and refit it twice on my own, took a bit of farkin around but can be done.
