Hay guys, I'm new to the forums and i just picked up a Suzuki Vitara Soft top. Brilliant car, loving it to bits, but as i drive it more and more i notice some faint sounds and warring and high pitch squealing etc. Pretty quiet, but still noticeable.
They come and go however, im guessing it was just some dirt on the fan belt, on in other pieces of gear. But the main think thats got me startled is the sound when you push in the clutch, its a rotating sound, almost like a dirt in the engine sound. But when you take the clutch off there is no sound at all.

Car is brilliant however, im planning on getting it a nice few inches of lift, big off road tires, bull bar!

Cheers guys,

Any suggestions?

Could be a dried out fan belt - squirt the fan belt with a bit of CRC.
If the sound goes away there's your problem. You'll need a new fan belt.

The later thing you mentioned, leads me to think your clutch may need replacing. Try the CRC on the fan belt first.

Sounds like a pressure plate thrust bearing to me.

In case you don't know what that is, its the bearing that pushes against the prongs on your pressure plate to de-activate the clutch when you change gears.

In most cases it will be fine till you have to replace the clutch due to wear... or the noise just pee's you off too much.
