Hi All

I have a 1981 MQ SD33 4 speed trol. When starting out in 1st the car shudders quite a bit unless I use extra clutch (It is worse starting out up hill) When going into 2nd there is a good vibration 3rd and 4th are fine. My gearbox is wet with oil all over but it doesn't appear to be dripping as the shields underneath it are dry. Maybe all the oil has leaked out haha. At anyrate if it stops raining here in Sydney I'll check the fluid levels. I'm thinking from doing a search on here that it might be clutch shudder. I don't feel any clutch slipping when driving. Any thoughts?

Well I checked the fluids and they are good. The gearbox mounts look a bit cracked (prolly original) That would be heaps cheaper than a new clutch which I've been quoted anywhere from $1400 to $1900 to replace.

Must be a fantastic clutch at $1800!!, i have previously paid $1100 for a heavy duty unit in my old GQ.
I think $700 was in the labour to R&R the unit, plus they did the main engine seal too.
