Drop in oil pressure

The oil pressure has dropped to a level which is critical ,would any one know what type of pump is on tge 2.8 diesel gu . or any reason tor this problem thanks

when does the oil pressure drop and what psi is it at.....

Your gauge or sender unit is likely to be faulty ;)

If it has no oil really, its to late :D

I'd be scared, I've seen 3 2.8 GU engines sieze.

Ahhh, its a GU :shock: only know GQ senders and gauges are crap, never worked on GUs

oil was only trickling out of the sender we thnk it was the reason the cam shaft broke ,at idle the guage did not read 10 psi , to scared to rev it would rather pull it apart again :? :? :?

Yep GU is a light only, no gauge, maybe Nissan gave up as they couldn't build a decent gauge. Camshaft breakage is a sign of no oil or a seriously warped head, I've got my old 2.8 on ebay siezed and all, it's up to $405 :P

time for a cummins swap me thinks, 4bta would be a good 4cyl replacement or maybe a 6bt *drool*

IT looks as though this little problem will cost me around 6k , new head, camshaft , belt. oil pump and lobour .NOT HAPPY JAN

i had a problem like that with mine all i did was change my oil filter to a ryco and that fixed the prob!
