swb into a lwb

im looking at putting 300mm of 100x50x3mm rhs and fish plates on either side of the extension on the end of my chasis to make it into a lwb and moving the springs back to the lwb position does any body know some good engineers

Look around for a LWB chassis, I think Steve or Craig (ZOH) had some lying around

if i was going to change to lwb i would be looking for a 1.3 model chasis

ive extended a swb chassis by 900mm its a lot of work cause the swb chassis tapers out and you have to bend the rails to make the parallel. plus the lwb has another brace underneath.i also would suggest finding a lwb chassis.

I got my BARE LWB body and chassis off Ebay for $100.
No way I'd try to extend a SWB for that kind of money!

I can't foresee any problems of squaring off the extension from the end plate. Other than spacing between spring mounts if you are moving them a hell of a long way back...

about 300mm back so ill need to move leaf perches which isnt that bad and also put 100x6mmx300 fishplates should be strong enough ill find an engineer to sus it out
