my cousin has a 2a swb with a holden 6 in it

he pulled the front pumpkin out today and found it to be 4.3 rather than 4.7
and the crown wheel is welded as well as bolted to the hemisphere

I remember reading about some one modifying hilux c&p onto a rover hemisphere into a bored out pumpkin
has any one heard of these as it was quite some time ago i read it

How did they get around the different pinion heights?

I think it is more likely they have fitted a rover carrier to a hilux casing (and R&P).

Or it is just a diff from a Rover 110. The Rover 90 came with a 3:90.

Good thinking! Could be an SD1 diff...

Edit - however the 90 and 110 came with 3.54:1. only the rover car - SD1? or P4? came with rover diffs in different ratios.

I ran a set of 4:30's in my 2A back in the early 80's and it was a very good compromise - but then in those days it was only beach and highway use - still suffered from the same weak rear axle..
