turbo manifold

got a ct20 to go on a 2.8.few problems.where the turbo bolts to the manifold points down and the turbo hits the oil filter.isnt the manifold ment to point up?? cheers joel

Yep should be on top. the turbo setup off the 3litre turbo engine (1kz) is under the manifold.

didn't think the 1kz manifold could even fit a 2.8 ?????

which oil filter setup do you have ?

no the 3lt manifold wont fit at all. Does the turbo have ct20 printed on it??

get the exhaust manafold form a 2.4L petrol surf/hilux

its the same stud pattern and has the turbo mid mount

Made a few phone calls 2 day and i think the manifold is off a 2.4 desiel surf.the turbo is a ct20.my oil filter points straight out from the block. i am thinkin of canin the manifold and jst makin a custom 1.

if its a ct20 turbo and manifold from a 2.4d surf engine, it will bolt straight up to the 2.8, if you look at the head you can move your exhaust studs to suit the manifold as there is extra holes, i did this to my 2.8 you just need a surf manifold gasket.

just a thought.....your not holding the manifold upside down are you ??
as mentioned you will need to relocate a few studs.

otherwise post pics.

if oil filter sits horizontal then it sounds like you allready have oil cooler fitted which is excellent. assuming factory that also means oil spray bars will be also fitted.

i hav relocate the stud and the manifold bolts up 2 the motor .then the turbo bollts under the manifold and hit the oil filter.i tho the turbo was ment to bolt above the manifold.that y i think it is the wrong manifold.wats the difference between wen the oil is pointin straight out as oppsed to straight down??cheers joel

i recently put a ct20 on my ln106, if your manifold is off a 2lt you gotta move 2 of the studs i think its the middle 2. if youve got any questions pm me

do the ports line up?
are you sure its a turbo manifold and not just an atmo one?
does the turbo bolt up to the manifold ok?
i wonder if you might have an aftermarket manifold.

oil pointing straight out is normally because its has the oil cooler fitted where as pointing straight down dosn't have the cooler.
