BBO doing a public service by supplying parts at a reasonable* cost and educating the public on spline counts.

* may not be reasonable at all.
That is more than double what I paid including delivery.

For some unknown reason, even with the dollar taking a dive I think I'd still be buying 26 spline versions from the US

wow, I wonder how much stronger the 27 spline ones are?
Are they $1K stronger than TT doubletoughs? (they're $249 atm)

I appreciate some local guys having a crack (as we all do I guess, and that old chesnut has been discussed over and over before, money staying local yadda yadda yadda).
These BBM ones aren't imports are they? If so, tech wise, how do they compare to the TT ones? Size in the crucial areas? metal type?

true they are dearer. Putting them on ebay, you never know who will actually buy them and apart from actually selling stuff on ebay he has managed to get a thread created about the fact that he sells axles in a 4x4 forum where right up to now 169 people have viewed this page.
AND...if they are smart and go to the BBM website you will see that actually, you can buy them for just under $800 for a pair. still pricey...but $500 cheaper!
Ebay is as good a form of cheap marketing as it is for selling products...
another 5 ppl have viewed this thread as I wrote this post.

good theory - but then it only makes them look like a ripoff if their buy it now price on ebay is $500 dearer than their own RRP dont you think?

So they're dear, what's your point? No-one's holding a gun to your heads to buy them. That's the awesome thing about a free market economy, you can choose what you spend your beer tickets on.

My points:
1, Aussie stores are always saying "Buy Australian" but who can afford to with their RIDICULOUS mark up?
Whinge whinge about no-one supporting local and then rip you blind if you do buy from them!
2, The more people see the rude markup from BBM/BBO the less people are likely to buy from them.
If they don't sell product they will be forced to sell at more reasonable prices.

I received this PM from Rick at BBM asking me to clear up this issue.
BBM Rick wrote:Thanks for pointing out the typo on ebay. As I have mentioned, we have a new guy, and although he is trying hard, he still has a "bit" to learn
Can you do the right thing now and either let everyone know that we are NOT trying to rip folks off, or even better - pull the thread all together.
Or do you have some other beef with us?
I look forward to hearing your thoughts.
Rick.

The Ebay listing has been cancelled instead of corrected.
The BBM site also says 27 & 24 spline
