Replacing winch wire with plasma rope questions

Hi all
I have a Warn 9500 winch with 30 metres of winch wire, using a normal roller fairlead. The winch is mounted in a modded ARB bar on a Range Rover.
I would like to repalce the wire with plasma
Couple of questions:
1. What diameter plamsa should I use?
2. How much (length) can I fit?
3. Can I still use the roller fairlead or do I have to install a fawse?
4. Where can I plasma in Brisbane
Much appreciated
Andrew

Andrew it is generally accepted that when you change from wire cable to rope that you have to change to a hawse fairlead. An old fairlead will have burs on it from the cable which could damage the rope and the rope may also get caught in the rollers.
You can generally get more rope on a winch drum than cable. I am unsure of exactly how much you could get on a Warn 9500 however Warn used to fit 40 meters of wire rope onto the 9000lb low mount winch. they subsequently reduced this because people were having binding issues when they were not observing how the cable wound back onto the drum. they now only fit 30 meters of cable to these winches. I expect that you would be able to fit 35 mtrs on.
Diameter rope depends a little bit on use. In comps most teams use 12mm rope. 10mm is a regular upgrade however 8mm rope is still stronger than 8mm wire.
The only person that I know of in QLD is who sells the stuff is Dave Metcalf. You will often find he has posts on here under comps and for misc for sale sections. I think he goes by MMM or Extreme MMM. Alternatively you could contact Roger Smith in Victoria as he is the importer of the product and have it shipped.
BTW you may find it useful to fit a sleave over the first meter or so of rope. This then becomes a good indicator as to when you have no more rope left on the drum to pull out.
Rope may be affected by heat build up in the drum on a low mount winch. this is not a problem on highmounts as the brake is not in the drum.

Do a search for "winchline"as there is several threads covering this topic that include size suggestions, fairlead vs hawse and also costs buying from the states or in australia.
The top three threads are probably the most helpfull
