4wd action forum would be your best bet for people with a one.
I know I'd love one but its not going to happen this century.

What is driving you to consider a change?

I race road bikes so the 105 ive got now gets used to tow an enclosed trailer and does the odd trip up the bush now and then the problem is its a bit on the slow side with the trailer and the price of diesel now im better of having a v8 on gas and it can still do the odd trip up the bush.

Thomo,
The performance of the Toyota V8 isnt that much better than the 4.5 petrol, if you look at the figures, for both power and torque.
I have just replaced my 4.5P in my 100 with a Gen 3, it has given me a huge increase in power and torque. Might be worth considering?

Gidday,
I drive an LX470 in Borneo and it really sucks petrol and is not that quick.
It averages 20l/100km around town and will drop down into the 13-14s on the highway.
It is a beautiful car, but way too thirsty to recommend.
Cheers,
Canon

1HZ
Petrol sucker
Anyway, I didn't post just to give you shit as I may have some advice. A mate had a V8 Sahara hunjy and it used to use something like 35 litres per hundred towing his 21 foot van. Don't quote me exactly as I forget but it was certainly in the 30's.
He quickly got sick of that so traded it back and got a Turbo Diesel hunjy and it used around 17 litres per hundred towing his van
with more power according to him. I've got a TD 80 series and I would always recommend a TD over a petrol if you are doing a lot of towing.
Just my opinion of course but food for thought.

On a recent trip across the Simpson, car loaded, 260 litres of fuel, 65 litres of water, fridge, campiing gear, wife and I and 2 teenagers, it returned 16 L/100K's on road, and 30L/100 K's across the Simpson from Birdsville to Purni Bore.
