gday just wondering what people have done to modify the cross member. i am fitting a t700 with lt95 to my rangi but the front shaft hits the cross member. could i cut out a section and weld in a half cut piece of pipe in there and would that be strong enough.
thanks.

thats what i did, with a 200mmish piece of 6mm steel cut to shape and welded(on edge) to the underside of the cutout. don't think its as strong
as the original so i welded another piece of 12mm solid rod on the inside
of the cutout to help it from collapsing.

My rangie tray, I never had one at all

And on my Diesel one, I've done this to clear the 3" exhaust

Didn't some later models have a crossmember made out of 2" tube? Have one lying around here somewhere.

It didn't need a crossmember mod when it was in my car, so can't see how its hitting it. Oh and i have your dipstick, will give it to Matt tomorrow.

Thanks for that mate. It mounts an inch back in my ute i think because the mounts were out and i had to redrill the holes. But its all in now just gotta make the floor to fill the big hole and mount the shifter. I just cut a section out of the cross member.
thanks again

Oops  , i forgot about that, i modded those mounts when i set that box up in my old 110 extra cab (that Matt now has) with the gen3 in it, i moved it back around 50mm so the sump would clear the drag link, so thats why they where out. Sorry

no worries mate, its all going now. all i have 2 do is mount the shifter and make a high low lever that will hang out the floor and thats it.
