Outer Limits 4x4 Board

Hi chaps.

Re 9r15/ 30x9.5x15 tyres.

Im now going into information overload.
Was looking at getting some desert duellers in 604v.


Then looked at some Kumho kl78, they rekoned they were good in the mud for an AT,

then they offered some Kumho mt 834's for simmilar price, and claimed they got a set that did 90,000kms on a cruiser.
Its the same tread pattern as the bfg muds apparently, but ive not looked.

Anyone had any experience with these tyres, did they wear well, balance well, what did you think of them etc.


There going on the 95 dual cab diesel hilux.

Looking at either the KL78 AT's, or the MT 834.
what milage, performance did you get out of these tyres??

Don't know if i'm talking about the same thing but i had Kumho MT's (30x10.5) on my Rodeo for a while. Very noisey on the tar, lots of punchers on the dirt, bald within 25K.

This is the 834.
My brother had the previous generation on his patrol for a while and was quite happy with them. I know he did quite a few K's on them (50 thou .. one trip he did was 14,000ks) no punctures reported, and that was over some rough terrain, canning, gunbarrel etc.

To wear out a set of tyres in 25000 ks .. what were you doing to your poor tyres ?

What sort of milage have people gotten with the ATs, and the MT's

Those are the ones i had. Wore all four down evenly (were rotated). I do quite a bit of dirt/gravel road driving because of where i live. For comparason, my last tyres (MTR's) are due for replacement now, after approx 70,000km of the same treatment. Didn't do much serious offroading with them, but they were fairly grippy in the mud and dirt.

Main puncher problem i had was from stones punchering between tread blocks (i did try running differant pressures with little differance)
