31's on front of D21 Navara?

Hi all,
Just wondering whether anyone knows the best way to get 31's to fit on my '87 D21 Navara 4wd?
I have 31's on the rear but when i tried to fit them on the front they clashed with both the front and rear of the guards when steering.
I am wondering whether the castor is ajustable enough to bring the wheels forward and then i could just cut the front of the guards to suit. Are there any negative effects to running more castor on a ifs D21?
AFAIK the suspension is currently standard, no body lift etc..
Any help on this would be greatly appreciated!
Cheers,
Mark.

31's should usually fit fine with the right wheels. What wheel size and offset are you using ?
Stock on the V6 where 31x10.5 on 15x7 with 25mm positive offset.

i found 31's on GQ patrol steelies didn't fit my old man's D21 Navara very well.

Should have just massaged the firewall with a hammer.

Thats a good point. My wheels are about 20mm outside the guards...
Assuming i want to keep these rims, is there a good way to get the 31's to fit? I'm not afraid of chopping a bit of guard, but i would prefer to only chop the front if possible. I am just a bit concerned about whether i will be able to adjust the castor that far forward and what affects that might have.

You won't get the wheel any further to the front.
You'll have to chop the outside of the front valance and the lower edge of the front fender where it meets the rocker panel. Other than that there's also the portion where the A-pillar and floor board come together. Some massaging with a BFH will be necessary here too. If all fails get a 50mm body lift

I have the Wd21 pathfinder, i have fitted 31" tyres to mine using toyota rims.

They clear the guards just fine, the only close bit is towards the rear of the wheel arch when turning.

general rule of thumb for these vehicles is 3" sus + 3" body = 33" tyres

They should fit straight on. The 4x4 Navara's already have a 50mm (2inch) body lift from the factory. Perhaps your torsion bars have sagged too much?

I've had 2 x D21 (Pathy and Navara) you will need to crank up the torsion bars. Easy job !! chances are shes also a liittle sagged. If you dont crank her up she will rub on your footwell and more so when the suspension compresses
