hey what is a second hand ct26 worth? in top nick.
are you comparing cheap chinese knock off with toyota turbo?Nat84 wrote:i would not pay no more then 300 as you can new ebay turbos for 250
So not only do you support the chinese making utter crap, you also suggest that you save a hundred bucks so that you can risk 5 grand rebuild when the compressor wheel finds it's way into the combustion chambers. AwesomeNat84 wrote:you can't go past a cheap chinese knock off turbo...for the price..and if it dose f**k up you can re-build it with ball bearing and it would still cost you less then a brand new one and that all it is it's just a name and thats what sell things if you look at the "cheap chinese knock off" the in sides are all the same
and if you do your home work on the cheap chinese knock off you can buy a straight bolt on turbo with out making custom parts...
hate to tell you but that can happen with any turborockcrawler31 wrote:So not only do you support the chinese making utter crap, you also suggest that you save a hundred bucks so that you can risk 5 grand rebuild when the compressor wheel finds it's way into the combustion chambers. No - not all things are made in china. You just need to be prepared to pay what a product is actually worth for a good quality build. Start looking past the little dollar sticker in the shop and you'll still find well made products.Nat84 wrote:hate to tell you but that can happen with any turborockcrawler31 wrote:So not only do you support the chinese making utter crap, you also suggest that you save a hundred bucks so that you can risk 5 grand rebuild when the compressor wheel finds it's way into the combustion chambers. and we all support chinese gear where do you think most things made
i think you would be quiet suprised on what is made over there...there is some things that are made over there then brought to aust then has a big oz name put on them. then your told it is oz made.....if your told it is oz made you would think nothing of it there for your happey to pay the mark up on it and shit like that has been on the news a few timesrockcrawler31 wrote:No - not all things are made in china. Yes it can happen with any turbo, but it's proven (fark do i really need to be saying this ) time and time again that cheap shitty products fail (especially chinese turbos) faster and with depressing reliability.
well all i can say about the chinese turbos so far so good i have had one now for 2-3 months with no problems and have mates that run the same turbo in there drift car for 2yrs now and have not had a problem but i can say that there stainless steel manifolds are shit thay can't hold the weight of the turbo cracks themrockcrawler31 wrote:Reputation mainly i admit, however i have seen the odd one or two that have thrown compressor wheels spectacularly after only a couple of runs.
Having said that, i've worked in china and seen how they make stuff. It's not just they're a developing country, but it's an ingrained part of how they think that they don't care about quality as long as they can sell more at less.
Dzltec - care to share your experiences with chinese turbos
