Early 4.8 into late housing/carrier

Ive got a 4.1 LSD complete Centre out of a late model Surf and a Early 4.8 Ring and pinion,Wondering if this would swap over to the LSD centre,The pinion bearings are a massive differance can the later bearing fit the early pinon?,I would need to run the later type housing for the side carrier bearings
