I'll get my ,new to me, GQ next week. A very base model, manufactured in SEPTEMBER '87 (one of the first batch), with manual steering.
Since I'm running 35's on that one I'm not keen on keeping the manual steering box.
Will a power steering box out of a RD28T GQ bolt right in ? My GQ was born as a TD42, though.
The steering pump will be the standard Chev one that's attached to my 4.3 V6 Chev/TH700 combo.
This is how she looks right now:

Thanks for the info !
This particular one was one of a batch of around 30 pre-production vehicles which were shipped directly from the japanese Nissan plant to a mining co. in the former eastern Germany (GDR). There wasn't even any importer, nor Nissan Europe involved, they learned about these vehicles 10 yrs later.
They were used as troop carriers in the mines and were equipped with 2 folding benches in the rear (similar to the Toyo troopies), hence the high roof, 4 speed, TD42, manual steering, fixed hubs in the front and nothing else.
Mine already received the disc brake rear with factory locker and 4,625 gears from a RD28T GQ, 70mm TJM suspension, 35's etc. :D Will be a nice comp rig for next season
