Has anyone fitted a baby seat into a Sierra before.
Did you mount it in the front or back?
I am looking at whether it is feasible to mount a baby seat so that I can take my son to and from day care during the week and may have to use my sierra soon to do so. This is a 92 model soft top.

Baby seat into a sierra
You need to fit a thing called a CRAB bar. You should be able to get it fitted at an authorised seat belt fitting station.
It is a bar that mounts behind the rear seat from one side of the vehicle to the other. it would have the ability to mount two child restraint points in the rear. more info here: http://www.childrestraints.com.au/crab_app.htm
This is the only legal way to go, also the smart way as your child's life would depend on it in a crash situation.

After much deliberation and actually sitting the seat in the back and seeing how close it sits to the rear bumper I decided that I was not going to risk putting my son in that situation. I would have had to mount the seat in the back and I thought that in the event of an accident with anything bigger and taller that my son would be in grave danger. At this point I stopped that thought process went out and bought the misses a cheap XF falcon on gas to go to work in and use the family wagon to transport the little one to and from day care. I know this sounds obserd cause I bought another car but old falcon on gas cheaper to run and don't care how scared it gets in shopping centre car park and wagon equals a lot of space behind son in case of an accident.
Cars can be replaced and more money can be saved later but kids can't be replaced.
When he gets older he can sit in the front with me and we can both enjoy the view. Sierra's really don't make a great kids transport vehicle at the end of the day.

No Idea, the pictures in that link are a very bad example of the use of such a device, and in my opinion is downright dangerous!
Please don't take this as an attack on you No Idea, but as the belt atachment point on the "CRAB" bar is quite a lot lower than where it passes through the child seat, and it appears to not touch the factory seat at all, in the event of a frontal collision, as the child is forced forward the belts would compress the seat and then the childs spine.
There are very strict guidlines regarding the maximum angle of the belt on the horizontal plane.
As I said NO IDEA, I am not against you or the product, just the photo.
At the end of the day why not use the factory ones that are allready installed and engineered on the tops of the rear seats
