All it is is a pipe to level out the oil in the Box and Transfer case. It certainly dosn't stop the seal from busting.

My hj47 had the plugs drilled then 75mm length copper tube braised in then a bit of 3/8 oil resist rubber tube to join the two& 2 worm clamps . wont stop the seal blowing, It is a cheep way of keeping oil in box AFTER seal has gone (oil pumps fron gear to transfer or other way dont rember which)
Most mechanics dont recomend it.
are you confusing breather tubes I dont believe that anyone would kit this :? [/i]

A few people do kit these. I have seen them on eBay, I'm sure I may have even seen them on Locktup.

Yeah I think its about $50 from Repco but thats the whole kit with fittings. If you already have the setup fitted and you just want to replace the hose then just go down to any hose supplier and grab a suitable length of oil resistant hose. Would be under $10.

see like i was told by toyota, there it used to be plugs in the gear box and transfer and the old thing built up and burst, so to prevent this they put this silly little pipe in , now iv already chagned the oil seal twice so im not sure what else to do apart from the pipe,

i'll try the pipe ray see how i go :)

cheers guys
