Heating probs, anyone got a 5LTR that can help?

Ive got a carby 5ltr and radiator to suit in my hilux and its not a "hot motor" just a cam and abit of head work.
At the front the twin thermo's are off a V6 I think as they look around 10", but there not doing the job, its still overheating as soon as the temp outside is like over 20 degrees.
Im going to cut away more of the front end this weekend as alot of the radiator is blocked by the body and the bottom of it does not get any air at all! The guy who I bought it off put somt stupid gemini fan on whitch doesnt do shit so im thinking of changing it to a clutch fan to suit the radiator shroud and also get a colder thermo (thats is it isnt already the colder thermo for it)
Alot of people also say ford XR8 thermo's are the best and I could put one on the back of the radiator.
Wat do you guys think?

Try a VK 6 cylinder 6 blade solid steel fan, we run these and they work well. Get the shroud fitted closer to the fan diameter as well otherwise it is useless for cooling. Also check that the lower radiator hose isn't kinked and reducing water flow.

Other than that a 4 core rad should see it keep cool.

I run very similar to the above with a 16" thermo in front for lo range hill climbing or stop start traffic with no shroud and haven't overheated yet.

with over heating vehicles i've had great success with very thin core radiators. the thinner the core, the quicker the air passes through it. the thicker it is the hotter the air is buy the time it gets through it. the only down side is you need maximum surface area, this is not always possible. and i'd mucher rather a good mecahnical clutch fan then a thermo anyday. just my opinion as the success rate has been 100% so far.
