warn high mount wont pull

This has probly been posted before but i brought a second hand high mount winch a few months back.
The solonoid box is under my bonnet is has all big power leads back to the winch and hooked up to 2 900 crank amp batteries so i dont think power is an issue.
When spooling in it has heeps of power but when under load it dies down nearly to a stall?
It originly had a 4.6hp motor now iv put a brand new 6hp motor on but its exactly the same.
from the diagrams iv seen the solonoids are wired correcly but still no luck.
Does anyone have any suggestions.Cheers?

how much weight is it pulling when its about to stall?

Does the motor have a GOOD earth cable going directly to it? It's not good enough to rely on the winch earthng through it's mounts. Secondly check all the connections on the solenoids to make sure they are clean and tight. Not just visually but actually undo them and make sure the terminals are not corroded.
If you operate the winch to make the problem occur and there is a problematic connection, it will get hot in the area where the fault is.

when it starts to stall its only on a small steep hill or on flat ground when you put your foot on the brake.
Its getting looked at tomorow but yeah it has 2 big earth leads of the motor 1 going to the solonoids and 1 to the chassis. The connections seem in good condition but i will double check them.All leads were brand new when put on 4 weeks ago to. Thanks

Earth lead should go to the battery. If not then you need to have very good conections at each point. The earth lead to the solenoids is fairly useless as they don't drawn many amps to work. I have a 1.5mm wire earthing mine and 95mm cable for the motors.
i'd be undoing every cable conection, cleaning it and doing it up with a conductive grease. I'd also be pulling the motor apart and checking it out for heat damage and to ensure all insulation inside it is good.
You also have to ensure that you have enough battery power so are the batteries good and charged etc?
Also do you have a volt gauge? If so what does it read during winching. If not then fit one.
