GU 4.2 TD6 intercooled power ups
GU 4.2 TD6 intercooled power ups
Hi guys,
Can anyone who has one, or has a mate with one let me know what you / they have done to get a bit more go out of them..
I was thinking a 3 inch exhaust, some pump mods, bit more boost and dynoed should do it….is this about right? Anyone know what sorta gains I'd get from this?
Also, who should I use to get this done - who knows these things very well?
Thanks in advance.

Cos thats bloody impressive. I aint expecting that much with a big BB turbo, huge intercooler and rebuilt/modded pump.
For more info people, call Andy at Diesel-Tec Lilydale.. not me
Stock GU pump, GQ is about 100rwkW.Mudzuki wrote:Stock pump is only good for 130rwkw from what i've been told.84mksd33t wrote:someone round here is claiming 225rwkw from a TD42 with stock pump, after market turbo and 20psi boost with top mount IC....
200rwkW takes 30 + psi boost, modded pump, intercooler of decent size, 3" exhaust.
Dyno figures are only as accurate as the quality of the dyno and it's operator, some are innacurate and some are dishonest.
If looking at dyno figures make sure the atmospheric compensations are within 4% of 1 and the dyno has an SAE, preferably a post 1990 one, to ensure is accuracy has been checked by an independent body.
