New (standard) shocks?

Hi,

Firstly, has anyone found the search feature isnt working? I just searched of "shocks" and got no results found in any forums

Anyway, my shocks have finally shat themselves on the Roza and Im going to need new ones. I was originally going to do a body/suspension lift for 31" when that happened, but I really dont have the money at this point. I remember reading some posts about longer shocks for a lifted roza, but does anyone have any recommendations about who makes good standard length shocks... is it worth trying to source Daihatsu parts or just go with Old Man Emu's etc?

Thanks guys
JD

Monroe and KYB both do standard shocks for Ferozas.

Do you have a Narrow Track or a Widetrack?

Commodore??? shocks from a wrecker will fit a Narrow Track, Ford X?? shocks fit the Widetrack.

Go to a pick a part place and you can yank them yourself for around $20.00.

AJ are you talking front or rear Fez shocks ?

I haven't seen any thing else the same for front ones, but Monroe say some of the back ones are the same as Rocky's, HQ to HZ Holdens, older Monaros, lowered Commodore wagons from 78-97 (incl HSV), CF Bedfords, and Toyota Crown's and Tarago's.
They say other Feroza's use the same on the back as Landcruisers from 69-80, and Ford F100's etc use on the front.

Ford courier??? for the front.

DON'T run Landcruiser shocks in the rear unless you want to urinate blood :?

Actually the Monroes for a Landcruiser might be just right. I found the Monroes for a Commodore wagon (and you don't want ones to suit a lowered wagon!) a bit too soft and under damped.

PS try the FAQ for post on shocks. ;)

I was just matching up the part numbers in the Monroe catalogue, and it says "Lowered Commodore Wagons" are the same. No idea why :?

Thanks guys, I'll have a look at the Monroes as a starting point. Should have said its a 94 wide-track and I definitely need to do the rears, but might be doing the fronts as well depending on the final price.

It probably does- and they'll fit. But you might as well get the standard height ones because they'll compress to the same length as stock Feroza shocks but extend a couple of centimetres longer. ;) They're perfect for stock spings but also allow some scope for future suspension changes. They'll most likely even help a stock springed Feroza get more travel.

PS: I've put a post on here with the lengths- there's a link in the FAQ's.
