i wouldn't have thought so :? the only difference is you might be lucky enough to score one with a H260 in the back. They are friggen huge and super tuff. Apart from that you can't go too wrong with them, they are all pretty tuff.

Yeah I know what your saying.
They had a small LSD.
Check the plate at the firewall, drivers side. Look for H233 or H260.
The H233 is the common good centre.
The h260 is the big centre that I doubt you would have.

It seems pretty hit and miss. Pretty sure my brother has a h260 in his 3lt. Either way for 99% of the world they are pretty hard to kill. No matter which diff it is.

As the other guys said, there is two, one has a 233mm crownwheel, the other has a 260mm crownwheel, the front diff will also be a 233mm unit, SO - if the back diff is the same size as the front then its the common h233, if its bigger, its the h260 - which from memory came on some leaf utes and zd30 wagons.
Calling the h233 a shit diff is a bit harsh, its not something thats known to be a problem, plenty of guys with chevs and the like use them and don't have a drama, also being smaller (and its still pretty big) will give you more clearance than the larger one, its also more than a fair match for its competitors.
Either way i'd be more worried about the motor than the diff....

There are 2 different types of LSD in the H233B, one has smaller plates then the other. Aside from that the rest is identicle

This is completely different to the H260.

The H260 was a miss matched unit in the early GU wagons, some ZD30's got them and some tb45's got them, but this seams to be alittle random as I have seen ZD30 and TB45 with H260 one year and the year after they had H233b again.
