Should I be seeing ultra fine metal paste on the magnet of the drain plug when I change the diff and gearbox oils?

I use castrol LSX90 and Multitrax in diff and gearbox.

sounds about normal for most vehicles. Makes you realise how much of a good idea the magnetic drain plugs are. Not sure about the hilux, but patrol has a hole in the middle of the drain plug which pretty much fills up between oil changes, and the ol' 40 series i had used to have a thick coating of metalic "fur" during a normal change.

Just watch for chunks, thats when the problems start.

When you change the oil, just remember to top up the fur as well...

Paste normal, chips and slithers bad, chunks time to pull down
