2.8's are bad for letting go around 200,000kms if they haven't been looked after. So I'd budget for a rebuild if its got more then that on it.
Front torque rod can crack around the mount on the chassi so check that, same goes for the front spring hangers and steering box.

service history is a must- as guts said, if they havent been looked after, they will only just make 200,000. If they have, its not hard to get 340,000 out of them!

watch out for leaking power steering boxes- about 5-700 for a full rebuild if they need the input shaft re chromed. $17 if youdo it your self with a double seal
leaking oil out the hubs is also very common, i was quoted about $800 to put a kit through it. diy is about $100ish with new wheel bearings.
couple of common things which cost a bit at the mechanics.
when they say good service history, you want to find an owner who raves about servicing it every 5000k's.
most would not have stamped services every 500k's as it would cost a fortune so they will all be home jobs which tends to mean no recipts. 20L oil drums are a good sign that they do it regularly.
my 2c.

bought a 92 sr5 lux of a mate new he looked after it was interccoled turboe's with 209000km's on the clock come 225000km's i spent 3600 on the motor rebuilding it and 1100 on the turbo getting redone. i know its all fresh now i service it every 3000km's now and it smashes out the hp for an old girl. good luck mate but be picky. quick thing have a look at normal bolts sump plugs air filter connection radiator hoses look for spanner marks and general use then you know whether they put spanners on it mate to look after it mechanically. all the best keep us posted
