Hi All. I need to repair a small tear i have in my Sierra's Soft top.
The tear is only about 1.5" long.

I have an old broken soft-top i was going to possibly cut a patch out of to either glue or stitch on to repair tear.

Was just wondering what options i have for repairing a small tear.

Also, to make this thread a little more interesting, heres a video of how it happened! Feel free to critisize my driving style if you want.

take it to a canvas shop or a place that make camper trailers to sew it up, that way you know it wont leak... well in that spot anyway

temp fix - duck tape

criticism - not smart standing on a bull bar of a car

In an ideal world, no, standing on the bullbar of a car is not a recommended activity. But in that situation, I don't see it as particularly high risk and would likely have done the same for a mate.

I would be interested to know what you'd do in a similar scenario, given you see what Mike's friend did as so stupid......

Wasn't under power at the time. Engine actually stalled, and had he not pulled the front down and i tried moving, i would have had a lot more damage.

The tear doesn't leak, as its on the folded over section, so its double layered there.

Thanks for the suggestion ofr!

if its just a slight rip, i would just glue and sew it up with a thick needle and cotton, or fishing line etc.

Standing on the bullbar? Thats safe, he wasnt under power, just cleaning out the carbie, Its a sierra thing. Have'ing body weight is a must when wheeling sierras.

This is my mates with my suzy

They got stuck in a rolling situation, as you can see, even with 2 people she still didnt wanna come back to earth!... This was all without me!

But without the weight. She may as well rolled. Which is better?

They have plenty of room to jump off.

You guys are sooks.
