i've bought one but never used it. all i can comment on is that it looks to be reasonably made - not really cheap lookin. I would imagine otheres on here will be able to provide better feedback

I have an ebay one - it cost a bit more than that and seems well enough made.
Never compared it with another gauge but it may read high - results for my TD42 with lots of km were all above factory specs????
Unless I'm doing it wrong - I presume you're supposed crank it until the reading peaks and then stop cranking, similar to testing a petrol engine???

yea thats right the only differance for petrol is you have to have the throtle fully open to get a correct reading for diesel it dosent matter

i thought the diesel needs throttle wide open when doing a compression test..

With a diesel the engine only needs to do about 5 full revolutions. And disconnect the power from the injector pump.

na diesels dont have a differnt set up and air can get in with the throttle closed where a petrol cant get air threw
