Toyo HP 5.29's.

Post by Bitsamissin »

I've found out that these are available for the 8" Toyo HP front diff.
How strong are these in HP guise ?? I know blokes get them from wreckers out of Hiaces or something and their easily grenaded but these would be low pinion ??
Would the 5.29 HP hack say up to 36" tyres, dual lockers and t/case reduction or would the 4.88's be a safer option ??

Frank.

a 5.29 HP will b way stronger than a LP in the front, but heaps weaker wen reversing.
i ran LP's F&R and busted the rear like it was going out of fashion (i think i busted 8) now i dont know if this was from them being incorectly setup ??? but the last set i got dun were built by the same dudes that bilt OLD YELLA's and they lasted 10 trips.

it all depends on how u drive and wot your truck is setup like, and who sets up the gears

a lot of guys from PBB run 5.29's with HP in the front without drama's
