What engine is in a 200nx?
If its a CA18 then it can be made to fit as a few here have done it.
A better fit would be a Suzuki 1.6 from a Vitara.

It will help if you post the engine's designation. (i.e CA18... SR20 etc) We don't have the 200NX model here in Australia.
next, I assume you are trying to find a gearbox (not transfer) that is short enough to fit, using the stock sierra/jimny/samurai transfer case, or, alternatively, try to attach the vitara transfer case to the back of a nissan (?) gearbox.
If it is a Nissan engine that was used in a Rear wheel drive application, it might be possible to build a skyline/silvia hybrid manual that is short enough to leave your sierra transfer case more or less where it is. The skyline extension housing is shorter than the silvia one from memory.
I'd avoid the vitara transfer case alltogether. It will make gearing your car hard, it has slip yokes front and rear, and the location of the rear output will put the rear driveshaft at a very steep angle, and centred compared to the RHS location of your sierra rear differential.
I also assume that the 200NX is a front wheel drive car (?) so you will need a RWD sump, starter motor, engine mounts and possibly have to move some accessories. also, look carefully where the distributor and any water piping sit.
just because a motor makes good power and you can get it doesn't mean it is a good conversion.
Suzuki's have been built here in australia with both CA18 and SR 20 series engines, so it is possible, but the SR20, in particular, is a tight fit and takes lots of troubleshooting to get all the bugs out.
You really need to supply some more information about the engine and what you want to do before some of the guys that have done nissan conversions here in Australia can assist you.
PS with that much power I'd want an automatic gearbox- It will be much kinder to the car.

If the 200NX is the vehice I think it is then the motor is a CA18 varient.
Do a search for ca18 in the Suzuki section and it will return some very relevant results

I dont know how well you would go getting the turbo in as well. May be a bit to much
A: heatload under the bonnet
B: Power for offroad in a very SWB vehicle.

from what i member, a nx cope has a sr20de in it... less it's one of the very early ones that have the sr looking rounded rocker cover on a 1800cc ... either was your much better finding a ca18 or sr20. in RWD layout. ANYTHING can be dun with enough shed time

NX is FWD and has the sr20 in it . Euro market may have had a 1800 to meet pacific market requirements ie cheaper rego.

You'd be much better to use a gearbox that bolts to the Nissan engine rather than adapt a gearbox from a different car to the nissan engine and then maybe have to adapt the gearbox to work with the sierra transfer case.
Nissan parts are very interchangeable, but we/you need to know what series of motor it is rather than the car it came from before we/you can work out what gearbox is the correct fit.

You have a few options .
One is to put a different output housing on the gearbox , one off a Cefero or 4dr skyline I think is the one you want . I did not find this out until I went with option 2 . Bolting the engine up to a nissan 4x4 ute gearbox , the hassle with this is the front output is on the wrong side for suzuki diffs , a big hassle to resolve .
Look into putting another housing on . Or go auto , a guy in NZ here has just put an auto ca18 into his 413 .

Extend the wheelbase and fit the nissan gearbox or vitara and adaptor.

IF it is turbo then just go an auto anyway.

Remove the rear seats, the engine should fit nicely.

That would be me.
I used a nissan silvia (180sx) auto box. The tail housing is really long but you can cut it off. I had an adaptor made to mate a toyota hilux transfer to the nissan box. We cut the tail shaft off at the park lock sprocket (about 200mm) and bolted a flang to the sproket. The flange had the joiner (splined tube) from the hilux box pressed/welded to it. In all the engine auto an transfer are only about 50mm longer than the standard suzuki set up.
The engine fits well but you need to reverse the sump to have the drop in the rear. From what I could find the sumps for front and rear wheel drive are the same.
The trans is a tight fit and I cut the trans tunnel out in a straight line from the fire wall to the tunnel about 900mm from the fire wall (if that makes sense)
I sent you an email (address from rotazuk.) If you get it I'll email some pics and feel free to ask any questions.

The samy has Patrol axles C200 front and rear
Home made suspension 4-ling back and 3-link front
tires now 235/85/16 after thinking for 35'' or 38''
It had 1600cc vitara engine but we wanted something more m we couldnt find a 2000cc 4cylinder Suzuki engine so we started looking for something diferend
and the dancing have startet 1 week ago

Is C200 the same as MQ here??
Posted: Mon Nov 10, 2008 6:29 am
by Gwagensteve
C200 is MQ Front and they are common MQ rear diffs in Europe. They are also used in the rear of Navaras.
Australian MQ's didn't have C200s rear diffs though.
I *think* light duty australian G60 patrols have C200 rears.
