GQ mods

Have just bought myself a GQ patrol ute has a 2" suspension lift, 2" body lift and 33's on 15" wheels just wondering what would be a good mod to do next thanks

depends what you want to use it for, e.g. short or long trips, desert touring, hardcore, etc
Some mods could be winch, sliders, fridge!!!, UHF, diff lock/s, long range tank, turbo (if its a diesel), canvas canopy - or telstra body style steel (if you want long trips and to store stuff in).
Probably don't need a whole lot more than a winch and UHF, then spend some of your money on having fun using it, you'll soon figure out what you as an individual needs, rather than what others want!
But thats my opinion and i'm sure others will have theirs.

You need to deside what your gunna do with it and ask for opinions, though you will get conflicting info on here.
Also what does it have now?

yeah has a uhf, sliders, and is a turbo diesel want it to be a more capable 4wd serious but not comp

You maybe suprised how capable a fairly basic GQ with 33's and a well tuned hairdryer can be.
LOTS of it comes down to the drivers skills.. Anyone can spend a billion on accessories and gear, but you will become a better driver using less mods early on in your ownership than buying everything under the sun, then when they fail, you will be fawkt. Get used to less things..
What are you using it for?? Touring? comp truck? Weekender? Daily driver?
What tires are they?
What suspension?
What mods?
Do you want it to look like a big bad truck, or want it to functional?
Try and give as much info as possible... Will make your life easier gettin answers

Spot on. With a half handy driver, even a complete stock GQ with decent tyres can do some amazing stuff. Go and get yourself a Woodpecker Challenge DVD.....

Ahh yes. Most new 4x4ers (including myself) get a big rush of blood to the head and spend up on unnecessary crap BEFORE we even work out what we really want/need.
The best tip i can give you nackers, is to get out there and drive your truck first. Take it on 3-4 trips of varying terrain and conditions, THEN you can work out what you need to do next.

I would like to make my wagon a big bad truck. I tried searching but found no info on it. How do i go about doing this?

Yes grasshopper. I feel the force is average in this one
you "MAY" be ready for some red with black dots. but be careful, they need engineering

getting behind the steering wheel and actually driving it. Taking it out and doing a variety of 4wding trips and then seeing what needs tobe modified from there because of what ever reasons.
What you have is a very good setup that will do most stuff

My ute was was set up like yours for years as a daily driver, weekend warrior. Went thru three sets of 33s tyres. Was all good fun and and taught me heaps. I also did a couple of family style comps like Battle of the states which again was good fun.
Point is learn to drive it as is now.
I know have 4 inch suspension, 35 tyres and 4.6 gears, which after doing this was another learning curve, which was much quicker. I now have the know how to drive this setup.
Now I am ready for more like 37 tyres and reduction gears. Also it is not a dd now.
