Hey all,
I'm looking at getting a Hilux, this one fits the bill price and spec wise.
They tell me its been lifted though, not sure by how much.
Are there problems involved with lifts on this car, anything I should look out for?

Looks like at least 2" lift to me.
Problem is the IFS doesn't like more than 2" lift, more accurately the front CVs don't like the increased angle.
I run just under 2" on IFS hilux type front on and offroad no real probs but wouldn't run over 2" without a diff drop.

Agree with Struth, keep it to 2" lift and will be sweet.

l really no nothing much about lux's, but hear they are quite good. Another couple of things to consider might be, tyres sticking out side of guards and if your going 4WD even if medium, take the alloy bar of before you dent it.
cheers

Its IFS......what sort of offroad work do you want to do with the truck, if its your first 4wd , you may find that as you get in to it and progress that this vehicle will restrict your modifications that you will be able/want to do.
Vehicle looks neat.
Good luck

Agree, there's not a lot to go wrong with Hi Luxes but the IFS will eventually be a hindrance if you get bitten by the offroad bug.
Mine goes many places with IFS and is pretty capable IMO but I will be swapping out to a solid axle to take my vehicle to the level I want.
That's the main choice you face here.

Cheers all.
Its not my first 4x4, ive had a few, but it will be my daily driver too so I have to compromise a bit.
Really im not gonna be doing lots of hardcore offroad work, im mainly interested in strength and reliability
Is the 3L a hardy motor?
My old man blew his up due to overheating but I think that was down to the shit mechanic he used to go to, didn't connect thermostat properly after some work...
They're actually asking 13,990, not 15,990 - does this sound fair to you all?
154,000K, new tyres and rego.
