ok guys the box problem will be sorted very soon and while im waiting i wanted to attack the front diff with a welder is it possible to lock it like this without comprimising the car drivability while in 2wd? will it have the lock effect while in 2wd? im guessing unless the hubs are engaged it should drive normally until i engage 4x4
i am an expert on welding diffs! and i get bored and think that it would be a advantage off road..
ideas?

constantly locked will make turing a right royal pain in the arse off road. it will give you more traction sure but will cause other probson and off road. i would never weld a front diff up. my 2c.
do you have free wheeling hubs? if so and you disengauge them then it shouldnt effect the on road at all... if not, i think the super select system disconnects one side half shaft. if so, the side that stays connected will obviously still be turning, but i dont think it will effect the drivability badly... i could be wrong tho.

i have welded both diffs on my vitara and off road it is way better, when thr track is grippy the steering gets heavy even with power steer, but i can put up with that, it is offroad only but with the hubs free and in 2wd nothing turns in the front, i am going to weld the rear diff in my paj but leave the front for now until i get some good tyres , go the welded diffs.

I have welded differentials on my Feroza Fozzy Locker style. It is hard to turn when you go trailing but livable. I won't advise it if there are many tight turns or for racing but for general trailing, I did not regret doing a fozzy locker on the Feroza. Its quite helpful specially since front IFS has a tendency to lift a wheel and the lockers did really improve traction.
The feroza has a manual locking hubs and in 2 wheel drive , there is no difference.
