Hi all, This is both for info and a question.
I found that during or straight after a steep climb my engine would not idle but would run at higher revs, but if allowed it to drop to low it would stop again.( reel dangerous if it happens at just the wrong time).
So I changed the points and plugs and condenser as it seemed to come on suddenly but to no avail.
So I looked at the carby which I found the float bowl full of fine mud, problem found, I blew out the carby and it ran like a dream until........... back it came to the same thing again!!!!!!
Then I started to notice that after shutting down the engine I could hear a humming noise which I tracked down to coming from the fuel tank, so I thought I had blocked the breather.
But no, on closer inspection the charcoal canister is blocked and disconnecting the breather hose stopped the noise, and hopefully the engine shutting down due to lack of fuel.
The question is what to do with the breather hose? To replace the canister is the cost of a small countries economy for a year so not that but any other suggestions would be appreciated.
Thanks Dave
