On my '98 100 series 'Cruiser there's like a harmonic hum/vibration at 90 k's. Have swapped over trans case as advised by experts but it's still there. Found front tail shaft uni's out of alignment and as advised rotated 90 degrees to re-align. This made hum/vibration worse. Did this 2 more times and found same. Reverted tailshaft back to original alignment as this seems to create the least hum/vibration.
Has anyone encountered this problem and or have a remedy other than a match and jerry can?

take the front shaft out, lock the center diff and take it for a drive youll soon know if its it or not.

How much lift does it have?
Are the uni's good quality and in good nick?

I had similar in a lifted 80series, turned out to be cheap crap uni joints causing it.

If you have recently lifted it, worn uni joints could also be the cause.

It's an auto and std height at the moment. Has full Toyota service history so I'm thinking the uni's are genuine and they felt good.
Thanks heaps for the tips. I give them a shot.
