My mate has a 88 short wheel base safari i think he said it was a y60.
He has replaced the bushes, steering dampner, tightened the front bearings, changed the tyres but for reason the truck shakes like fuck at 60km. When other tyres were on the truck the speed it shock at was 80kms instead.
Hes drving with 33x14x15 on it.
Any idea of what else it could be?

its not comin through the truck its comin through the steering. He has replaced all the bushes in the front end.
Its like the wheels are out of balance or separated but they arent cause it does it with other sets of tyres.

try an "on car wheel balance" at a good heavy vehicle mechanics shop!
after months and months of shitty balances from standed tyre shops these blokes fixed my wobble strait away!!
patrols are trucks not cars, also takes switched on worker to spot front end wear that causes greef!

Its got me farked, i have a 06 GU coil cab with 55k on the clock, still standard height and tyres and at exactly 90km/h it gets a bad wobble and by 100kmh its gone. The tyres are balanced spot on and i can't find any wear in the front end or anywhere else. Seems pretty shit to me considering low kays and unmodified. Seems to be a common problem with the Patrols and i've heard all sorts of reasons behind it but yet to figure out why mine is doing it.

There's a member on here who owns a business and claims to "solve the wobbles". Maybe try him. He posted in a recent nissan thread about tyre balancing - cant remember which one though.

hmmm i duno its a weird thing. We were almost thinkin of chuckin on a heavy duty steering dampner but supposably that just disgues the problem.

Heavy duty and RTC are different jiggers, but yes, sticking a whiz bang steering damper on is not solving the issue at hand.
